Y’s BANG ON! is a genderless collection with a unique serial number attached to each model. The name « BANG ON » is attributed to the Japanese word for number »Bangou ». Hand-drawn « Y’s » printed on the clothing tag was drawn by Yohji Yamamoto.
The collection includes items that use past archive patterns and we hand-punch the model numbers with a stamp as final touch.
Y’s BANG ON! Expresses the practicality of clothes by recomposing the underlying and background elements of Y’s and Yohji Yamamoto’s clothing-making. Layering, syle arrangements and traditional crafts.
Coats and blouses inspired by the vibrant color shades of hill tribe clothing and by the composition found in old folk costumes. Impressive blue piping in the inside, a pullover in a shirt fabric with hand-made embroideries of plants berries that decorate the neck and the sleeves on a ribbon tape. The latest collection incorporates primitive elements into modern clothing, such as military and arranges it. A masterful men’s silhouette. Y’s BANG ON ! line-up also includes a series of items bringing in everyday life into a classic style, such as a short-length trench coat.
